The upcoming anime series Petals of Reincarnation has just been confirmed to premiere in 2026, and co-producer/platform partner HIDIVE has added to the fan buzz with the release of the official, first-ever English subtitled teaser trailer. The series will be available exclusively on the fast growing streaming service from AMC Networks when it debuts in 2026.
Based on the hit supernatural action manga created by Mikihisa Konishi, Petals of Reincarnation is currently in production, directed by Shun Kudo (Grendizer U, Gundam Build Divers) together with animation by BENTEN Film. As part of today’s announcement, AMC Networks’ HIDIVE also released the newest key visual for Petals of Reincarnation, featuring the official logo created for the streamer’s English language audiences in both the U.S. and Canada as well as key overseas markets including the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
Synopsis: Growing up constantly compared to his genius older brother, Toya Senji has a deep inferiority complex over his perceived lack of talent. For Toya, his academic achievement is his final stronghold. But, despite consistently ranking in the top 100 in national mock exams, he remains dissatisfied. One day, Toya witnesses his classmate Haito Luo Buffet engage in battle with a serial killer. Afterwards, he finds out about the supernatural “Stem of Reincarnation” and that Haito is what’s called a “Returner.” In disbelief, Toya learns that with the power of the “Stem of Reincarnation,” you can return from self-inflicted death and thereby gain the talents of a past life.
Created by Mikihisa Konishi and published by MAG Garden, Petals of Reincarnation began serialization in May 2014 in Monthly Comic Garden and then MAGCOMI starting in December 2015. The manga series now spans 22 volumes-to-date with more than 3,000,000 copies in print worldwide. An English language version is available on the Mangamo mobile app.
In addition to Kudo and BENTEN crew, the anime production roster also includes series composition by Atsuo Ishino, assistant direction by Kosuke Murayama, action direction by Kentaro Azuma, character design by Haruna Kato, character design supervision by Sayaka Ono, sound direction by Yukio Nagasaki, music by Kohta Yamamoto and music production by Pony Canyon.
The Japanese voice cast of Petals of Reincarnation is led by Shoya Chiba (Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, Blue Box) as Toya Senji, Wakana Maruoka (Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, My Clueless First Friend) as Haito Luo Buffett and Ayane Sakura (My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan) as John V Neumann.
