Ahead of tonight’s episode premiere, fans got a sneak peek this morning of the next installment of South Park‘s headline-grabbing 27th season.
Premiering tonight (Wednesday, August 20) at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central (streaming next day on Paramount+), “Sickofancy” will unfold as one of the show’s most surreal character — Towelie, the talking towel — heads off to Washington, D.C.
In the first-look clip, Towelie pulls up to the heavily patrolled capital in a tour bus. “Wow! Washington, D.C.,” he soliloquizes, as a National Guard tank rolls by. “This seems like the perfect place for a towel!”
President Trump deployed 800 National Guard troops to the nation’s capital on August 11 in a declared “public safety emergency,” charging them with taking over the city’s police to crack down on violent crime (which, according to Metro PD statistics, was at a 30-year low before the deployment) and homelessness.
South Park S27 will continue its fortnightly new episode release schedule with premieres on September 3 and September 17 on Comedy Central.
