5-0 Studios London has announced a new faith-based animated series, Scroll of the Winans: A Journey with Asher and Isaiah. The project is adapted from the forthcoming series Thankful from the Winans Family, currently in development and pre-production. The animation series will be accompanied by a 12-title children’s storybook set, Isaiah — Walking with the Winans.
Scroll of the Winans reimagines one of gospel music’s most celebrated legacies through the wonder-filled eyes of two 11-year-old boys: Asher, the quiet observer of Scripture, and Isaiah Winans, a boy destined to carry his family’s promise forward. The new animation series also takes inspiration from the 1977 series Jesus of Nazareth, starring Robert Powell.
Synopsis: When Asher the Angel meets 11-year-old Isaiah Winans, they journey through generations of the Winans bloodline, witnessing miraculous moments of survival, faith, sacrifice and obedience that shaped a name destined to change the sound of gospel music forever.
As Scripture comes alive and scrolls glow with every act of surrender, the boys uncover a greater truth: this was never about fame — it was about a covenant. One family. One name. And the God who never let go. Guided by a glowing scroll and the presence of Jesus Himself, Isaiah sees his family’s journey unfold — from the miraculous moment his grandfather Louis survived yellow fever, to courageous marriages, to the building of churches during segregation, to grandchildren who would one day become the most awarded family in gospel music history.
Each episode pairs a pivotal moment in the Winans family’s history with a parallel biblical event..
Scroll of the Winans is executive produced by Melanie Greene and 5-0 Studios London, with Thankful executive producer Michael Winans Sr., a five-time Grammy Award winner, composing the soundtrack and original score alongside his daughter, LaShay Whitt. The franchise has already drawn interest from several voiceover talents from Jesus of Nazareth.
The animated series is part of a multi-platform creative vision from 5-0 Studios London and executive producers Greene and Winans, encompassing the Thankful film series and its book, as well as the Isaih children’s book collection.
