Heroes Supervisor Joins Eden FX

Hollywood-based visual effects studio Eden FX has brought on Mark Kolpack as visual effects supervisor. Kolpack, who most recently supervised effects on the hit NBC series Heroes, has also racked up credits on the ABC show Commander in Chief, the ESPN/ABC movie of the week Ruffian, One Tree Hill and Thief.

Kolpack has worked in the film industry since 1985. Prior to his more recent television work, he served as in-house vfx supervisor/producer for The Post Group, where he worked on Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and HBO’s The Life & Death of Peter Sellers. He opened his own company, Perfx, in l996, and produced vfx for such clients as Visa, Lockheed/Martin, AT&T, Cadillac, HBO, Nike, Ford and Weight Watchers. While still with Perfx, he completed composite work on New Line Cinema’s Blade and Rush Hour, as well as the main title design for Centropolis’ 1998 Godzilla remake.

Earlier in his career, Kolpak worked with Joe Pytka’s commercial production company, PYTKA, as vfx supervisor and head of post-production. During this time, he oversaw the effects on commercials for Nike, McDonalds, Apple, Alamo, Levis, Doritos, Pepsi, The GAP and others. He also worked with vfx guru John Dykstra on the feature film Batman Forever, and collaborated with director Adam Shankman on The Wedding Planner.

Eden FX was formed in 2000 by visual effects and post-production notables John Gross and Mark Miller. The studio specializes in 3D animation, compositing, 3D matte painting, character animation and on-set supervision. More information can be found at www.edenfx.com.
