Miller Named CEO at Digital Domain

Digital Domain president Mark Miller has been promoted to the post of CEO, taking over for Carl Stork, who will stay with the company as vice chairman of the board of directors. ?Since arriving at the vfx house, Miller has overseen visual effects work on such films as DreamWorks/Paramount’s Transformers, Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Meet the Robinsons, and New Line Cinema’s upcoming fantasy epic The Golden Compass.

‘Mark Miller has two decades of experience in the visual effects industry, and he has demonstrated effective leadership of the company,’ says Stork. ‘It’s great to recognize Mark’s contribution with this promotion to CEO. I certainly plan to remain an active voice in the direction of this company, and I look forward to my new role as vice chairman.’?

Miller began his career at Lucasfilm Ltd. in 1984, working as a production assistant on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He then enjoyed a long stint at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), where he rose to the rank of vice president and senior executive in charge of production and marketing. Over the course of his career, Miller has lent his talents to a number of other projects helmed by Transformers director Michael Bay, who became co-chairman of Digital Domain when he and other investors bought the company in May of 2006.

Digital Domain is an Academy Award-winning visual effects facility located in Venice, Calif. Since opening its doors in 1993, the company has produced effects for many television commercials and such feature films as True Lies, Apollo 13, The Fifth Element, Titanic, What Dreams May Come, The Day After Tomorrow, Flags of Our Fathers and I, Robot.
