Jesse Sutton CEO has been promoted to CEO of video-game giant Majesco Entertainment Co. Sutton, 38, served as Majesco’s president from 1996 to 2006, and took on the role of interim CEO in August 2006. He has been involved in overseeing all operations and has been key in building a mass-market strategy for the company, which has also named former Archie Comics Ent. president Allan Grafman non-executive chairman of the board.
‘As CEO, I will continue to guide Majesco into its next phase of growth by exploring new avenues in the digital entertainment market,’ Sutton comments. ‘Most recently, we launched Majesco Studios, which enables us to leverage our technical and design expertise to specifically focus on products and titles targeting the casual gamer. We’re excited about the opportunities that will result from this initiative and believe this move furthers our ability to build the same or better product as we do externally with similar or reduced costs.’
Grafman, 54, has served as a member of Majesco’s board of directors since April. He is currently the president of All Media Ventures and has been an operating partner of Mercury Capital Partners since 2005. In addition to serving as president of Archie Comics Ent., he has previously held the offices of exec VP and chief financial officer of Hallmark Ent.
Headquartered in Edison, New Jersey, Majesco Entertainment Co. holds a large share of the mass-market video game business with such popular franchises as Nancy Drew, Cooking Mama and Zoo Hospital. More information is available at www.majescoentertainment.com.
