Martin Tremblay has been appointed president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) and will take the post in June. Reporting to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group president Kevin Tsujihara, he will be responsible for setting the long-term direction of the studio’s worldwide interactive entertainment strategy. Duties will include overseeing publishing, marketing, sales and distribution, licensing and business development of Warner Bros.’ video games.
Tremblay joins WBIE from Vivendi Games, where he served as president of Worldwide Studios since 2006. Under his leadership, Vivendi released such acclaimed titles as Scarface: The World is Yours, console versions of F.E.A.R, World in Conflict and the Crash and Spyro series. Prior to his stint at Vivendi, he was president and chief operating officer for Ubisoft Montreal, where he helped transform the company into the second largest games development studio in the world. During his tenure, Ubisoft Montreal studios released such hit game franchises as Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Prince of Persia.
Warner Bros. expanded its videogame development capabilities with the acquisition of Monolith Prods. in 2004 and U.K.-based TT Games in 2007. Upcoming titles include LEGO Batman: The Videogame, Speed Racer: The Videogame and the F.E.A.R. sequel Project Origin. Nintendo DS gamers can also look forward to games based on the classic Wacky Races and Looney Tunes cartoons.
