Fresh Spins, a direct-to-video animated children’s series featuring fresh takes on our favorite fables and fairy tales, is currently in development by Noodlesoup Prods. and the Johnson Group. Created by children’s author and Noodlesoup founder Jeffrey Nodelman, each story will be hosted by a live-action alien puppet direct from his spaceship.
Children’s screenwriter David Stern will collaborate on updating the traditional stories, Rashida Jones will do the music, and Grammy winner Seth Friedman will write the lyrics. The first episode is scheduled to debut in the spring of 2004.
New York-based Noodlesoup Prods. (www.Noodlesoup.net) boasts a staff of classically trained artists and animators. Fresh Spins is only one of 20 original projects now on the company’s drawing board.
