Virgin Mobile customers will soon have some new toons to go with their tones courtesy of basic cables top destination for laughs. A wide range of new entertainment content is coming to handsets as part of a broad, ongoing strategic alliance between Virgin Mobile and Comedy Central’s parent company, MTV Networks.
Comedy Central content began rolling through Virgin Mobile in June 2004 with the release of ringtones, voicemail greetings, screen savers, wallpaper, alerts and a game based on the networks puppet prank call show, Crank Yankers.
Other Comedy Central content on the horizon for 2004 includes wireless SMS and downloadable games based on the animated series South Park, as well as exclusive content from the upcoming toon "reality" series, Drawn Together.
Through Virgin Mobile’s strategic alliance with MTV Networks, all Virgin Mobile customers already have access to exclusive content from MTV and Nickelodeon.
