ADV Films announced an October 12, 2004 release date for Peacemaker: Innocence Lost, the first volume in the popular anime series from GONZO Digimation, the studio behind Hellsing, Full Metal Panic and Blue Sub No. 6.
Adapted from the popular manga title, Peacemaker Kurogane, the bloody Peacemaker is set in 19th-century Japan at the beginning of the Meiji period and tells the story of 15-year-old Tetsunosuke Ichimura, who loses his parents to ruthless killers and seeks revenge by joining up with the Shinsengumi, an elite group of swordsmen sworn to protect the capital. When the Shinsengumi show themselves capable of the same brutality as his parents murderers, Tetsunosuke must decide whether to remain with them or become a peacemaker like his father.
Peacemaker: Innocence Lost is the first of a series of seven volumes. It will include four complete episodes in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 language versions with English subtitles, production sketches, original Japanese television spots a reversible cover and a production fold-out insert for a suggested retail price of $29.98. It will also available as a limited collectors edition, which includes the DVD, volume one of the Peacemaker Kurogane manga and custom box art. It will retail for $39.98.
