Meet the Robinsons on Disc

Disney’s animated feature Meet the Robinsons rolls out on home video today after earning more the $155 million at the worldwide box office over the summer. The family pic comes packaged with a generous offering of bonus features, including a behind-the-scenes documentary, deleted scenes, interactive games and more.

Meet the Robinsons is a sci-fi comedy is based on William Joyce’s picture book A Day with Wilbur Robinson. The film centers on Lewis, a 12 year-old genius inventor who meets a mysterious boy from the future named Wilbur Robinson. When Lewis’ science fair project is stolen by a scheming villain, he and Wilber travels forward in time and spend a day with the eccentric Robinson family, who will rely on Lewis’ sharp mind for survival. The film is Directed by Stephen J. Anderson (Journey Beneath the Sea, Toto Lost in New York), a veteran Disney artist and story man whose credits with the studio include Brother Bear, The Emperor’s New Groove and Tarzan. DVD extra features include a featurette titled Inventing The Robinsons, which follows the development of the film from concept to creation. There are also audio commentary by director Stephen Anderson, deleted scenes with explanations for why they were cut, a featurette on real-life visionary inventors who changed the world, two interactive games and music videos for Rob Thomas’ ‘Little Wonders’ and the Jonas Brothers’ ‘Kids of the Future.’

Also debuting on DVD today are two Warner Home Viseo releases of classic superhero television series. The Adventures of Aquaman: The Complete Collection is a two-disc set from the DC Comics Classic Collection. The set features 36 cartoon shorts involving the aquatic superhero who protects the lost city of Atlantis the oceans at large. Aquaman can also be seen in The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians, also from the DC Comics Classic Collection. This two-disc set offers ten episodes of the 1985 show that features some of DC’s most popular characters. Each release carries a suggested retail price of $26.98.
