The worlds of video games and comics collide as DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio and WildStorm, an imprint of DC Comics, join forces to create an exclusive, limited-edition comic book based on the upcoming game Mirror’s Edge. EA and DC Comics will distribute the first issue at Comic-Con International in San Diego this week. Attendees can find the game on display at booth #5233.
The graphic novel combines the talents of writer and story designer Rhianna Pratchett, who also wrote the script for the game, and artist Matthew Dow Smith. The six-part comic series will introduce readers to heroine Faith and her fellow ‘Runners’ in a network of couriers who use acrobatic moves to avoid being detected as they traffic packages across rooftops and aerial skyways.
Mirror’s Edge the game is being developed at EA Digital Illusions CE AB (DICE) in Stockholm, Sweden. The first-person action adventure will ship this winter for PlayStation3, Xbox 360and for the PC. For more information on EA DICE, go to www.dice.se.
