Star Wars Saga Comes to Blu-ray in 2011

The Star Wars saga is finally coming home in high definition.

Creator George Lucas announced at the Star Wars: Celebration V convention in Orlando, Fla., that a boxed Blu-ray set of all six episodes in the saga will be released in fall 2011.

The set will be packed with extras, including never-before-seen deleted scenes. The audience was given a taste of these scenes with a clip cut from Return of the Jedi in which Darth Vader reaches out through the Force to Luke Skywalker, who is on Tatooine assembling his new lightsaber.

The set will include the special edition versions of the original trilogy ‘ Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi ‘ with no word on whether the original theatrical versions would be part of the release.
