SIGGRAPH 2008 Will Be More User-Friendly

The organizers of this year’s SIGGRAPH confab (Conference: August 11-15; Exhibition: August 12-14) held at the Los Angeles Convention Center are making several changes to meet the growing needs of the CG industry and attendees. According to a recent press release, attendees can journey through the conference according to their needs and interests. ‘You can experience art pieces, technology installations and events that share commonalities in the same area without walking back and forth across the conference.’ Hmmm, we’re not sure how that actually works, but it definitely sounds fantastic!

Also, another great piece of news is that SIGGRAPH 2008 will be a Monday thru Friday event, not Sunday thru Thursday’as it’s been in the past. AND, are you ready for this one? ‘The Computer Animation Festival will be a full-scale film festival open to the public. Taking place both at the Los Angeles Convention Center and at the state-of-the-art Nokia Theater, the Festival will include multiple days of competition, feature film and animated short screenings, as well as supporting talks, panel discussions, art displays and award and prize presentation.’ Sweet!

You can save $275 by registering for the event before July 4. Visit
