Animation Book Look Back In LA

The Van Eaton Galleries and The Creative Talent Network in Los Angeles will co-host the second annual Animation Book Look on Saturday, May 17. Sponsored in part by Animation Magazine, the unique gathering will feature appearances by well-known authors and artists, as well as up-and-coming writers covering the field of animation. Professionals from the publishing and animation industries will have the opportunity to promote themselves and their art to fans, collectors and art aficionados.

This years’ event will bring a large number of artists and authors to the signing table with a showcase of more than 75 books ranging from children’s stories to artist’s sketchbooks, illustration collections, fine-art tomes, how-to guides and history lessons. Still in the planning stages, the festival may also include panel discussions and other special appearances.

Guests scheduled to appear this year include director Chris Buck (Surf’s Up), screenwriter Chris Jenkins (Surf’s Up), art directors Michael Kurinsky (Home on the Range) and Ron Lukas (Surf’s Up), and visual development artists Armand Serrano (Surf’s Up) and Marcelo Vignali (Open Season). Books on the signing table will include Art of Kung Fu Panda, Art of Surfs Up and Art of Monster House.
