Fifteen Animated Films Qualify for Golden Globes

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced that fifteen movies have qualified for the Best Animated Feature category in the 67th annual Golden Globes Awards.

That means five films will be nominated for the award when the group announces its nominees on Dec. 15.

The qualifying movies are:

Battle for Terra

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Coraline

Disney’s A Christmas Carol

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Mary and Max

The Missing Lynx

Monsters vs. Aliens

Planet 51

Ponyo

The Princess and the Frog

Up

The rules require animated features to be at least 70 minutes long with no more than 25 percent live action.

The winners will be announced in a televised ceremony Jan. 17.
