SIGGRAPH: Henson Demos Real-Time Stereo 3D Animation

The Jim Henson Co.’s Digital Puppetry Studio will be demonstrating at SIGGRAPH its technique for animating a puppet into stereoscopic 3D in real time at the Nvidia booth (#717).

The technology, used on the animated TV series Sid the Science Kid, renders two full HD video streams to create a 3D experience.

Visitors to the booth will use active shutter glasses and 3D monitors to watch the result as a Henson puppeteer adds a live performance to an immersive video experience.

SIGGRAPH runs through July 29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
