REDCAT to Screen 2009 Ottawa Highlights Sept. 27

Film at REDCAT will give filmgoers in Los Angeles who missed the 2009 Ottawa International Animation Festival a chance to catch up.

The series will screen a selection of 12 shorts from the festival on Sept. 27 at the Film at REDCAT Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater in Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

Films include Eric Dyer’s The Bellow’s March, Diego Maclean’s The Art of Drowning, and David O’Reilly’s sci-fi drama Please Say Something, as well as works by Jake Armstrong, Bastien Dubois, Julian Grey, Rao Heidmets, Stephen Irwin, Gary Leib, Ian Miller, Marv Newland, and Michal Socha.

Two new films ‘ Myth Labs by Martha Colburn and Presentation Theme by Jim Trainor ‘ also will be screened.

The selections were curated by Ottawa festival jury member Suzan Pitt ‘ who will appear to speak at the screening ‘ and Steve Anker.

Tickets cost $9, with tickets for students $7, and $5 for CalARts students, faculty or staff, and may be purchased by calling (213) 237-2800 or online at www.redcat.org or in person at the Redcat Box Office on the corner of Second and Hope streets in downtown Los Angeles.
