ASIFA-Hollywood is soliciting submissions for its Animation Educators Forum Student Animation Film Festival, with Sept. 1 the first deadline for entering and having a chance to win a Student Annie Award.
And if you don’t have a film to enter and still want to be involved, the group is seeking volunteers to assist in a number of areas.
To submit a film for the festival, go online to http://www.animationeducatorsforum.org/SAF.html and click on the link for the entry form.
All films will be evaluated for and awards presented in the following categories:
‘ Best Visual Storytelling
‘ Best Character Animation
‘ Best Technical Achievement
‘ Judges’ Choice
‘ Best Animated Short
The best in festival winner will receive the Student Annie, which will be presented at next year’s Annie Awards ceremony.
The soft deadline for entering is Sept. 1, and the final deadline is Oct. 1. The festival will take place Nov. 6 at Cal State Long Beach.
Students interested in volunteering should contact ASIFA before Oct. 6 and must be able to attend a meeting on Oct. 16.
