Channel One Russia Worldwide (C1RW) has signed on to air the new animated action series Iron Kid from BRB Internacional. The network, which broadcasts to many former soviet republics as well as Israel, Germany, the UK, Canada, Australia and several eastern European countries, will premiere the show on its digital pay channel TV Nanny KIDS this fall.

Iron Kid is a 26-episode series that follows the adventures of Marty, a boy from the future who discovers the Fist of Eon, a robotic arm that gives him unknown powers and places him at the forefront of a centuries-old battle between good and evil. Written by veteran toon scribes Nicole Dubuc (Kim Possible) and Ben Townsend (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), the show is a collaboration of European, Asian and North American creators and is designed to attract a global audience. Awards to date include Best Children’s series at Animacor 2005.

BRB will take Iron Kid to Budapest next month for DISCOP, one of Eastern Europe’s major commercial TV markets. The company will be looking for broadcast partners to join current carriers Canal Clan in Spain and Jetix (KBS) in South Korea. Iron Kid is also set to debut on Kids WB! on The CW in the U.S., as well as Mediaset in Italy, TVI in Portugal, Space Toon TV in the Middle East, and Ecuavisa in Ecuador.

In addition to Iron Kid, BRB is currently producing The Invisible Man, which recently premiered worldwide, Bernard (Best New TV Licensing Property at MIPCOM JR 2004), Khuda-Yana (best attended presentation at Cartoon Forum 2005), and The Imp (winner of the MIPCOM JR Licensing Challenge).
