Portfolio Ent. is heading to DISCOP 2007 later this month with a slate of children’s, family and lifestyle television programming that adds up to more than 700 episodes. The company will be offering a number of animated series to international buyers during the annual television content market, which takes place in Sofitel Atrium Hotel on Budapest June 20-22.
Toons to be showcased include the global hit series Carl2 (Carl Squared), a series of 65 half hours that centers on a slacker teen who accidentally generates his own clone and discovers that the miracle of cloning comes with a price as he scrambles to cover up the trail of chaos that his exuberant replicant leaves in his wake. Also on the market are the puppet shows Amigo and Me (65×5), Ruffus the Dog (26×15) and Panda Bear Daycare (26×15).
‘DISCOP is a valuable outlet for us as it provides an opportunity to showcase our catalogue to the Central and Eastern European buyers we were not able to see at MIPTV earlier this year,’ says Jon Rutherford, director of sales and acquisitions for Portfolio Ent. ‘With the considerable growth and change in this market, we anticipate positive feedback and a warm reception for our library.’
Portfolio Entertainment will be available at DISCOP viewing box number 27B. Additional programs from the company’s catalogue, including the animated series RoboRoach, can be found at www.portfolioentertainment.com.
