Code Monkeys Debuts on G4TV

G4TV’s new original animated comedy series, Code Monkeys, makes its broadcast debut tonight, July 11, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). A parody of video games, technology and pop culture, the series had its first introduction online late last month as Break.com, an entertainment site for men, offered an exclusive look at the first episode.

Created by Adam de la Pena (Minoriteam, Crank Yankers) and produced by de la Pena’s Monkey Wrangler Prods., Code Monkeys is a satire that follows the surreal adventures of an oddball group of 1980s game designers, led by two guys named Dave and Jerry. The series makes references to classic games and will even feature guest voice spots by iconic technology and gaming personalities including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Atari founder Nolan Bushnell.

Much like the British animated series Empire Square, Code Monkeys mimics the blocky graphics of early video games, particularly the Nintendo 64 titles. The first episode is still available for viewing online at http://info.break.com/static/live/v1/pages/sponsors/codemonkeys/codemonkeys.html.
