Nickelodeon is packing 65 hours of animation into its “Superstuffed Nicktoons Weekend,” a four-day programming event kicking off at 6 a.m. (ET/PT) on Thursday, Nov. 22 and continuing through 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25. Throughout the weekend, Nick will air day-long marathons of Nicktoon pilots, movies and all-time favorite episodes, as well as special sneak peeks at upcoming Nicktoon creations. The fun will start with the three landmark episodes of Nickelodeon’s very first original productions’Ren & Stimpy, Doug and Rugrats‘airing together as they originally did on Aug. 11, 1991.
‘Nick’s ‘Superstuffed Nicktoons Weekend’ is for fans of classics like Ren & Stimpy, those who love current hits like Back at the Barnyard and everyone in between,’ says Marjorie Cohn, exec VP of priginal programming and development at Nickelodeon. ‘Viewers are not going to want to miss this rare opportunity to celebrate the entire Nicktoons history’from 1991 to 2008’in one jam-packed weekend.’
Viewers can log onto TurboNick.com and vote for the ‘100 Greatest Moments in Nicktoons History,’ which will be presented on air as a special count-down. TEENick stars Jamie Lynn Spears (Zoey 101), Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff (The Naked Brothers Band), Devon Werkheiser (Ned’s Declassified), Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly) and Lil JJ (Just Jordan) will then unveil 25 of the voters’ picks each day during the Superstuffed broadcast from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday will offer a day-long marathon of Nicktoons pilot episodes, while Friday is devoted to SpongeBob SquarePants episodes, including the new TV movie Atlantis SquarePantis and four never-before-seen installments. Saturday brings a marathon of favorite Nicktoon series with primetime debut episodes of Back at the Barnyard and Tak and the Power of Juju, followed by Sunday’s Nicktoon movie marathon featuring Rugrats in Paris, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Danny Phantom in Phantom Planet, the Fairly OddParents TV movie Channel Chasers and Rugrats Go Wild.
During Sunday evening’s broadcast of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Nickelodeon will show advance clips of three new animated series coming in 2008, including The Mighty B! starring Saturday Night Live‘s Amy Poehler as the world’s most ambitious and lovably unhinged Honeybee scout.
