Bardel Ent. in Vancouver, British Columbia announced that it has gone into production on 26 half-hour episodes of a new 3D-animated series titled Zeke’s Pad. The show is produced My Pad Prods. Inc., a partnership between Bardel, Leaping Lizard Prods. Inc. and Australian co-production partner Avrill Stark Ent. PTY. Ltd, a division of Flying Bark Prods.
Created by Liz Scully, Zeke’s Pad revolves around 14-year-old Zeke Palmer, a talented artist from a weird and wacky family, who owns an electronic drawing pad that somehow makes his drawings come to life. However, things never quite turn out the way he imagines them.
The program is being produced in partnership with YTV in Canada and Channel 7 in Australia. Distributed is being handled by Bardel Distribution Inc. in North and South America, the U.K. and Eire, and through EM Ent. GmbH in the rest of the world. The show was developed in Canada and funded through the Canadian Television Fund, Telefilm Canada, the COGECO Program Development Fund and British Columbia Film. The Shaw Rocket Fund and the Independent Production Fund have committed to production financing.
