The absurd animated comedy Assy McGee will return to Adult Swim with 14 new episodes starting on Sunday, April 6 at 12:30 a.m. (ET/PT). Produced at Clambake Animation in Massachusetts, the show about a crime-fighting butt with legs will serve up fresh capers involving everything from drug smugglers to a mysterious online lover.
Detective Assy McGee is a hard-boiled cop who shoots first and asks questions later, if at all. He does what it takes to get to the bottom of a case and protect the good people of Exeter, no matter what the Chief, the Mayor or even his own partner, Detective Don Sanchez, thinks about his brash tactics.
The series is created and exec produced by Carl Adams and Matt Harrigan. A partner of Clambake Animation, Adams began his career as an editor, story writer and director on Comedy Central’s Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist and The Dick and Paula Celebrity Special. He also produced several animated segments for Cosby, and co-created and produced the animated series O’Grady for The N before working on Adult Swim’s Home Movies. Harrigan has written for such television series as Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Late Show with David Letterman, Celebrity Deathmatch and Adult Swim’s Squidbillies. He is also exec producer for the Adult Swim show Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and the upcoming series Fat Guy Stuck in Internet.
