DECODE Ent., a subsidiary of DHX Media, has announced that it has teamed with Spain’s Neptuno Films to co-produce a new animated preschool series titled Poppets Town. Produced in association with OLC/Rights Ent. in Japan, the 2D series of 26 half hours has already been presold to France’s Canal J and to Disney International for its channels in the U.K., Spain, Scandinavia, Italy, Australasia and Taiwan. TeleQuebec has also come on board as a Canadian broadcast partner.
Life’s a party in Poppets Town, where the citizens are constantly building, exploring, racing and roaring around town. But when life’s little questions arise, Scooter and his best friends Patty and Bobby are on the case, getting to the root of such queries as ‘How can I get the apples down from the tree?’ ‘Where should I dig for buried treasure?’ ‘And how do I think up a song?’
Neptuno will handle international sales for Spain, Portugal and Latin America, and OLC will represent the series in Japan. The rest of the world will be handled by DHX Media’s distribution subsidiary, DECODE Enterprises.
