Studio100 Media NV & Co. KG, a subsidiary of Studio100 in Belgium, announced today that it has signed on to distribute the popular children’s animation series Alfred Jodocus Kwak in Asia. The deal covers TV and home video rights for the show, which is produced by Dutch production company J.F.A. Productions B.V., part of the Herman van Veen Studios Group.
Based on a Dutch theatre show by singer and songwriter Herman van Veen, and illustrated by Harald Siepermann and Hans Bacher, Alfred Jodocus Kwak (52×26) was first produced in 1989/1990 in Japan and televised in the Netherlands, Germany and Japan. Alfred Jodocus Kwak is a brave, curious and cheerful orphan duck growing up in the care of a mole. His mission is to communicate in an educational and entertaining way through heart-warming stories that emphasize the importance of awareness and personal responsibility for one’s environment.
Alfred Jodocus Kwak was first distributed in more than 48 countries and with more than 300 different merchandising products. Studio 100 is confident that the show’s soft, educational qualities will make it a hit with a new generation of Asian viewers.
