qubo Has Turbo Dogs, Story Shop for Fall

Multilingual and multimedia programming platform qubo will debut the Scholastic series Turbo Dogs and Sammy’s Story Shop as part of its new fall lineup. The qubo blocks on NBC, ION Television and Telemundo will also roll out new episodes of some of its most popular series from Classic Media and Corus Ent. companies, while the 24/7 qubo Channel will expand its programming line-up with a twelve-hour programming ‘wheel’ that will repeat once during the day.

Co-produced by CCI Ent., Turbo Dogs is an original CG-animated series based on the Racer Dogs book by Bob Kolar. Through the comical antics of a wacky, canine-based community that shares a passion for motor sports the series will aim to expose kids to the concepts of direction, distance and time, while reinforcing the importance of cooperation and fair play.

Sammy’s Story Shop, an anthology series produced by Scholastic’s critically-acclaimed Weston Woods Studio, combines imaginative play with the magic of storytelling as it presents animated video adaptations of such best-selling and award-winning children’s books as Snowy Day, Make Way for Ducklings, Harold and the Purple Crayon and Tikki Tikki Tembo.

Formed in 2006 by Scholastic, ION Media Networks, NBC Universal, Corus Ent. and Entertainment Rights Group companies (Entertainment Rights, Classic Media and Big Idea), qubo’s multi-platform offerings can be found on NBC on Saturday mornings, ION TV network Fridays afternoons and Telemundo weekend mornings, as well as on qubo’s 24/7 digital broadcast channel and website, www.qubo.com. The qubo Channel is broadcast in both English and Spanish, and is available in all markets served by an ION Television station, as well as via Verizon’s FIOS TV, AT&T’s U-Verse, Mediacom and Comcast.
