G.I. Joe: Resolute Comes to Adult Swim

G.I. Joe is returning to animation in a new Adult Swim series oriented toward grown-up fans that will air both online and on TV.

The series, titled G.I. Joe: Resolute, will consist of 10 five-minute episodes and one 10-minute finale. The first episode will debut April 17 on AdultSwim.com, with subsequent episodes being released online and building to a full presentation of the series on the Adult Swim TV network on April 25 at midnight. The first chance for fans to see the finale will be the TV airing, after which all episodes will be available online.

The series was developed by toymaker and IP owner Hasbro, with executive producer Sam Register, director Joaquim Dos Santos and Titmouse Studios. Popular comic book creator Warren Ellis wrote the script for the entire series.

The series also will air in Canada on cable network Teletoon at 11:30 p.m. on April 24.
