Disney XD Comes to the U.K.

The Walt Disney Co. announced its plans to launch the Disney XD channel in the United Kingdom.

Disney XD will replace the current Jetix brand, offering a mix of live-action and animated programming that is boy-focused and girl-inclusive.

A new website, DisneyXD.co.uk will launch in conjunction with the channel.

‘Disney XD will capitalize on all of the assets across the Company to make it the leading boy focused entertainment platform in the UK and around the world,’ said Boel Ferguson, General Manager for Disney Channels UK & Ireland.

The Disney XD brand launched in February in the United States, garnering strong ratings, and in April in France.
