4Kids Entertainment has hired the investment-banking firm Montgomery & Co. to help it work out a financial strategy and explore options including asset sales, mergers, strategic alliances or the sale of the company.
‘Given recent developments in our business and in the current macroeconomic environment, we have decided to retain a financial advisor to assist the Board in evaluating all strategic options available to us as a company,’ said Alfred R. Kahn, Chairman and CEO of 4Kids Entertainment, in a statement released Wednesday.
The company said it would not comment further on its situation until its evaluation process is complete.
4Kids Entertainment’s properties include such animated fare as Chaotic, Dinosaur King, Gogoriki and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
