Chorion will be debuting its new preschool animated series The Octonauts at this year’s MIPCOM, set for Oct. 5-9 in Cannes, France.
The adventure series is about a team of heroes that dives into the ocean with cool aquatic vehicles to rescue sea creatures and explore the underwater world before returning home.
Based on the books by the design team Meomi, the series has been pre-bought by CBeebies in the United Kingdom, TF1 in France and ABC Australia for its launch in 2010.
Emmy-winning writer Stephanie Simpson and Chorion’s SVP Creative Kurt Mueller are serving as executive producers on The Octonauts, which is in production on 50 11-minute episodes and one 22-minute special. Brown Bag Films is producing the animation.
