The Hub is the name of the new children’s and family oriented network being created by Discovery and Hasbro to launch this fall.
The name and launch date were confirmed at the Television Critics Association tour by the new channel’s president and CEO, Margaret Loesch.
Loesch has an extensive background in animation and children’s entertainment, having most notably run Fox Kids during the 1990s heyday of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and X-Men.
The Hub will replace Discovery Kids and launch with series based on popular Hasbro properties such as Transformers, My Little Pony, Tonka and G.I. Joe. It also will carry on with some Discovery Kids series such as Adventure Camp and Flight 29 Down.
A major online presence at hubworld.com also is planned.
Bring back Bindi The Jungle Girl. My 5 year old daughter was so upset to find it is no longer broadcasts the show. Please bring it back. you will make a little girl so so so happy. Thank you

To be honest I was very upset when I turned on Discovery Kids for my 3 year-old son to find that his favorite shows were no longer on. It is not easy to get my son to sit down or to get his attention but I found that Hi 5, Hip Hop Harry, and Bigfoot Presents did. He was learning and loving every bit of it. This new programing is awful,I don’t know who wants to watch Wonder Years these days or any of the creepy shows with the puppets (they are very poorly put together),but I want Discovery Kids back!
I agree with you Rose. Did you see my comment regarding this channel- which is directly above yours? I LOVED Discovery Kids…it was such a great channel now, I completely miss it. The Hub channel SUCKS and the ONLY shows I do like are the original programming they do air from the Discovery Kids channel like Truth or Scare and Endurance. Otherwise, the Hub channel does NOTHING for me…
my 7 yr old granddaughter hates the new Hub. She cries everytime we turn it on. during the day in our time zone its just crappy old reruns of not very good sitcoms of 30 years ago. She was learning so much from Bindi the Jungle girl,Mystry hunters and other shows. The quality of the shows now is just garbage.

I don’t think everyone else gets it. This is not for toddlers, 3yr olds, and 5yr olds. There are ENOUGH channels for kids that age.
This is a GREAT channel for kids about 9-13.
My son is 12 and LOVES this channel. The shows are exactly the kind I would want him to watch. I dont worry at all when he says he is watching The Hub.
Please bring back Discovery Kids! My little sister and I loved every bit of it! The Hub isn’t even educational — I turned it on one day to find a violent Batman show. The Hub isn’t going to help kids learn anything besides violence and useless information. Discovery Kids taught so many kids in a fun way! Please bring it back!

Why would you email the station to say you dont like it. As they say, if you don’t like it DON’t watch it. There are so many channels for little kids. Let there be a good, channel you don’t have to worry about your kids watching. Even disney XD, and Nick at Night, have shows that have sexual overtones, and things you would not want you preteen, or new teens to watch. This channel has GREAT clean, shows, most I watched when I was younger (much younger)
You are completely missing the point. People pay tons of money per month (I pay $115 a month for cable!) for channels like the Hub and so many others. People want channels they enjoy watching and are entertained. Look at the messages on this board- the majority of people don’t like the Hub channel and, they are angry that they took off a wonderful channel like Discovery Kids that had numerous educational and fun programming and replaced it with total crap! Their website wants feedback whether it’s positive or negative- I have a right to voice my opinion on the matter…

My kids are so dissapointed. They would turn it on to watch so many of the Discovery Kids shows, now it’s just a bunch of garbage. Sometimes change is not good. Bring back Discovery Kids.
I was so upset when I found out that DK was turning into The Hub. In fact, I was so upset that I got up at 4:00 in the morning on Sunday just to watch the final airings of Growing Up Creepie, Grossology, and Kenny the Shark. When the Hub finally premiered, I tried to watch the first show that aired, and it was SO lame, I had to turn to something else. On that same day, when teh clock hit 2:30 PM exactly, I had an emotional breakdown. Boo-hoo crying all the way, baby.
Why? Because the people at Discovery Kids made the stupidest choice ever to team up with Hasbro. All Hasbro is trying to do is get more people to buy their stuff. But, did DK peopel think about that? No, they probably didn’t.
Well, DK shows still air on the Hub, but they air really early in the morning. Like, on Mondays, Grossology comes on. But where I live, which is in Alabama (yes, I’m black), it comes on at 4:00 AM (Central Time). I tried to watch it, but I slept through it. Alarm and everything.
And the Hub? Well, I like the kiddie programs, but the afternoons, no. I mean, I like Atomic Betty and Tutenstein, but please get rid of those lame shows! Oh my God, they suck! And the family prine time? Like, crap, I like Doogie Howser M.D. and Happy Days. They’re some of my fave shows from teh old days, but some of the others need to go.
The Hub’s logo? LAME! DK’s logo was SO much better! The Hub’s logo looks like Psy-Fy’s logo. And the channel’s thingy-majig, when they say “Where everything comes together”? Puh-lease! Nothing comes together! Lame commercials, a lame logo, lame shows! Crap!
DK was so much better….I miss watching Grossology, Kenny the Shark, Tutenstein, The Future Is Wild, and Crash Bang Splat when I come home from school! Grossology is my fave show ever and I can’t stand not being able to watch it! In fact, DK was the only channel I ever watched on TV, other than Boomerang and Cartoon Network. Now what? Now WHAT? I’ve stopped watching TV. The only thing I do now is go on the computer. All day. Every day.
Like, the removal of DK and Grossology was the removal of my life! Now the only thing I can talk about to my “so-called” friends at school is that the Hub sucks!

Dude, you go Niki! I also hate everything about the Hub. The only decent show on it is Deltora Quest, and even so, it’s being marred by the unfitful disgrace of sewage on this network. In fact, just remove the Hub, bring back DK, and stick Deltora Quest on it as well. Grossology, Time Warp Trio, and The Future Is WIld were the ONLY things I watched on DK, but I would occasionally watch Growing Up Creepie or Dinosapien. Heck, I even watched Tutenstein and Kenny the Shark at times! And I’m 13 (for those of you who think DK is just for 9-10 year olds)! DK was an educational network, and now it’s been replaced by something being used to get more money for a bunch of greedy people. Bring back Discovery Kids!
I will agree that DK had great shows. And I am sorry they did not just Add the Hub as a channel instead of replacing DK. But they did. But you can’t compare apples to oranges. You had apples, now you have oranges. You can watch it or change the channel. I don’t think destoying the HUB will bring back DK. There are kids out there that love the HUB, and like DK I don’t have to worry about what my kid is watching.

Hey everyone, I discovered that if you want to watch Discovery Kids shows, you can have to tune in (sadly) at 1 o’ clock in the morning. I watch Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls, the Saddle Club and Adventure Camp. The Hub channel ripped off Discovery Kids when they said they said that they were going to show 50% of the original Discovery Kids programming- it’s only in the wee hours of the morning…the Hub channel sucks!

Quit crying discovery kids was a crappy channel with horrible shows that got NO ratings. The acting was 2 bit kid actors that I could act better then. I think its awesome that they brought back the REAL Transformers from the 80s & G.I. Joe its about time someone did. Its genuius! Plus the wonder years & Doogie howser are on it too! Im gonna love watching this channel. Kudos to whoever brought this channel to life!
Another thing to all u soccer moms theres enough stupid kids channels on my direct tv that I pay for for nothing all 15 of them I think they should get rid of all but 1. When I was growing up in the 80’s I had saturday morning tv shows n thats it & nickolden in the mid 90’s an that was plenty. Now theres 4 nick channels & all kinds of other junk channels. PLEASE, bring back the Discovery Kids channel. I really HATE the Hub channel- all they show now-a-days are marathons of G.I Joe and Men in Black. They even stopped airing Truth or Scare and replaced it with R.L. Stein’s the Haunting Hour. The Hub channel lied they said that they were going to air 50% of the Discovery Kids programming. They only show them between 1 o’ clock to 3 o’ clock in the morning when everyone is asleep. I HATE Maraget Loesch! She screwed up an awesome channel…!
I know I just commented a few days ago but, I had to write this post. I did some research on Margaret Loesch and, I discovered that she paid Discovery Kids Channel $300 million dollars to take their programming off the air. She mislead them by telling them that she was going to air 50% of their shows on the Hub which is a flat out lie. Also, she wanted to promote her Hasbro line of toys like My Little Pony and G.I Joe- this was all for HER benefit (!) so she could make her company more profitable! What a truly SELFISH woman! The Discovery Kids Channel aired educational and fun programming like Trading Spaces: Boys v. Girls, the Saddle Club, Adventure Camp and so many others. The Hub is nothing but total garbage airing shows from the 80’s that NOBODY cares about now-a-days. I will never watch the Hub again unless they show Discovery Kids channel shows again. I am truly disgusted by this woman. I hope the ratings on the Hub go downhill FAST!

i dont know why you people hate the hub but i like the hub. Plus why DO you people hate on it? I never watched DK but its programing sounds stupid. The hub is one of the few channels i watch. Before you say some insults let me clear some out:

I am in complete agreement with others in that I hate the Hub channel. We have blocked this channel, it is not a good channel for our 5 year old. I wish Discovery Channel would bring back their children’s programs!
