HIT Entertainment has announced a reorganization of the company that creates four new divisions.
The new divisions will form two new lines of business, one focusing on the Thomas & Friends franchise and the second on HIT’s global brands, including Angelina Ballerina, Barney, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam, Pingu and Rainbow Magic.
The Thomas line will be comprised of three divisions: Thomas Americas, Thomas EMEA and Thomas Asia. Pam Westman will head the Americas division from New York; Rick Glanker will head up the Europe, Middle East and Africa division from London; and Antonio Huab will head up the Asia division, which includes Australia and Japan, from Hong Kong. All three will report to HIT COO Sangeeta Desai.
The global brands line will be run by Jon Owen from London and will manage those properties worldwide with assistance from staff members in New York, London and Hong Kong. Owen also will report to Desai.
‘This new organization is the logical next step in the evolution of our brand management strategy,’ says Jeff Dunn, president and CEO of HIT. ‘It will allow us to bring greater focus and attention to all of our brands, which are at different stages in their lifecycle and therefore require different resources to maximize their potential.’
