Fans of the Internet game of Elf Bowling will have a chance to see their little heroes up on the big screen in a few years. Miramax Films has picked up the North American TV and home entertainment rights to the animated movie The Great North Pole Elf Strike, produced by Chris Walkers Modern Cartoons.
According to both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, Miramax will continue its push into family entertainment by supporting Walkers project, which will be handled by an unnamed Fiji animation house. The storyline focuses on a strike by North Pole elves who decide to trek to the South Pole but get sidetracked in Fiji. The project was brought to Miramax by Jeff Tahler, VP of acquisitions.
