  • Director Kim Hagen Jensen Digs Deep into the Making of His New Film ‘Dreambuilders’

Director Kim Hagen Jensen Digs Deep into the Making of His New Film ‘Dreambuilders’

Danish animation veteran Kim Hagen Jensen began his career in the field working as an animator on features such as Thumbelina, All Dogs Go to Heaven, FernGully: The Last Rainforest and A Troll in Central Park. He has also worked as a storyboard artist on European movies such as Asterix and the Vikings, Harvie and the Magic Museum, The Giant Pear and Ella Bella Bingo. This year, Dreambuilders, an ambitious CG-animated feature he directed, has been released in theaters around the world. We had a chance to chat with him about this movie, which centers on a young girl who has the power to control other people’s dreams. Here is what he told us:

    Kim Hagen Jensen
    Kim Hagen Jensen

Animag: Congrats on the success of your latest feature. Can you tell us a little bit about how you got involved with this project:

Kim Hagen Jensen: Well, I had a dream one night in which I actually met the workers creating my dreams. This inspired me to develop an animated film about a girl who changes other people’s dreams. Sometime later, I worked together with producer Nynne Selin Eidnes on another film and I pitched her the idea. She was hooked and so we started working on the film which became DreamBuilders.

What attracted you to this project?

I’ve worked as an animator and storyboard artist for many years and directed a few animated shorts, but my ambition has always been to develop and direct my own feature film. I found the idea of influencing other people through dreams fascinating. The emotionality between the characters and the visual possibilities made this story perfect for animation.

    DreamBuilders
    Dreambuilders

Where was the bulk of the CG animation done and how many people worked on it?

All of the CG animation was done in Denmark at the animation studio Hydralab run by Sunit Parekh and co-director Tonni Zinck. When the production peaked we were approximately 25 people animating the film.

Which animation tools were used to produce the animation?

We used Storyboard Pro for storyboards, ZBrush for the models, Maya for the animation and Nuke for compositing and visual effects. I wanted light to play an important part of the visual storytelling. Working with Hydralab, I found an approach to lighting closer to the setup used in live-action films. To further the cinematic experience, we opted for virtual anamorphic lenses and a widescreen format. All this gave us the tools to “paint” with light, conveying the mood and the emotions needed to create a more immersive cinematic experience. We also used Redshift for rendering, which gave us the opportunity to set up lighting almost real time. I have a background in hand-drawn classical animation and I felt that a more painted style would convey the feeling and warmth needed for this film. So, for this production we used painted textures rather than the usual photo referenced textures and bump maps normally used in CG productions.

    DreamBuilders
    Dreambuilders

How long did it take to complete the movie?

It took around five years of story development and financing, but the actual production time from greenlight to the premiere of the film was two years.

Why do you think this movie stands out in the big crowded field of animated movies for the family?

The theme about building and changing dreams is somewhat unique, but the unusual and entertaining way the movie deals with the father-daughter relationship and the difficulties of being a modern family is what really makes it stand out. The high production quality we were able to create on a somewhat limited budget has also gained a lot of attention.

What is your take on the overall animation landscape today?

As the technology becomes more versatile and intuitive, I can play more with camera lightning and the overall visual storytelling. I am able to watch the different iterations of a character in real time, which means that there is a shorter path from my creative vision to the final frames. I think and hope that the next big evolutionary step will be animated stories for adults that are less family orientated and more experimental while maintaining a high production quality.

You have worked on many of the classic 2D animated indie features of the ’80s and ’90s and then made a smooth transition to CG animated features in Europe. Do you miss anything about the way animated features were made in those earlier years?

When I am a bit nostalgic, I really miss working in rooms with pencil drawings on real paper all around me. I miss the sound of animators flipping paper with sketches all around them. I miss being around artists producing long, detailed layouts on paper and creating watercolor backgrounds. All of them are surrounded by brushes, paints, pencils and libraries of reference books.

What has been the secret to your success and longevity in the business?

I am not sure there is a secret. I have a very strong passion for filmmaking, drawing, design, animation, storytelling and world-building, so this business has always been my playground.

Any tips for up and coming animation professionals?

Don’t let cool projects gather dust too long. Get out there and pitch them. See if they sink or swim. Either way, you will learn something for you next project.

Anime Meets Bullet Hell in ARVORE’s VR Game ‘Yuki’

ARVORE, the award-winning Brazilian studio which developed acclaimed VR titles Pixel Ripped 1995 and The Line, announces Yuki, an action-packed bullet hell VR game with roguelite mechanics set in a fully original anime universe.

    Yuki
    Yuki

With an innovative VR gameplay inspired by classics like Star Fox and Touhou, the game explores the player’s spatial awareness and body movement across multiple procedural levels, filled to the brim with enemies, obstacles and bullets. This all leads to a highly challenging adventure with roguelite elements, such as a semi-persistent progression system that allows the player to improve his skill by equipping several power ups and new abilities at the beginning of each run.

Set in an incredible anime universe, Yuki transports the player into the wild imagination of a child to fly through multidimensional worlds while holding the action figure of her favorite anime character, Yuki. They will use their hands to fly Yuki and dodge a near infinite barrage of bullets and obstacles that fall into their path in an enthralling VR-designed gameplay. Players will have to think on their feet and engage in a smooth choreography to battle enemies while dodging bullets and obstacles.

Yuki offers a unique VR blend of the ‘bullet hell’ and ‘roguelite’ genres — both are known for their high difficulty, but Yuki is designed to be accessible and enjoyed by everyone. By starting as an “pick up and play” game, the player can feel the power progression through systems and clear skill progression through difficulty. Yuki quickly grows into a strategic game that offers a clear feeling of progression and rewards for the player’s personal achievements.

ARVORE wants to invite all players interested in playtesting Yuki to join their community on Discord (and follow the project on Twitter).

“A while back we were brainstorming new ideas and started to wonder what some classic game genres would look like translated completely to VR, so we started prototyping some of them,” explained Ricardo Justus, CEO at ARVORE. “This translation of the ‘bullet hell’ genre showed a lot of promise right from the initial prototypes, so we decided to dive in, and Yuki was born.“

  • Playground TV Launches Safe Multilingual Kids Streamer

Playground TV Launches Safe Multilingual Kids Streamer

Playground TV is today launching a dedicated multilingual kids streaming service featuring a wide range of content for children aged two to nine years. Developed to help kids to discover safe, engaging video content in their native language, wherever they are in the world, the service launches initially with 14 animated channels in French, Spanish, English, Hindi, Mandarin and Persian.

The service will be free of charge to viewers, and supported by carefully selected adverts, with a subscription service to follow, which will provide personalized features such as the ability to follow specific channels, create a playlist and remove ads.

“Accessing kids’ channels outside of the country of origin is often difficult, and this presents a challenge,” said Daniel Nordberg, Playground TV founder. “We know that language plays a crucial role in preschool kids’ development, and for parents with a different native language than the country they live in, it is particularly important to find ways to connect children with their cultural heritage.”

The number of people living outside their country of birth grew by 41% between 2000 and 2016 to 244 million, according to the World Economic Forum, with more than half in Europe and North America, so Playground TV has recognized the need to provide relevant and appropriate kids’ video content for multilingual families.

India was the leading country of origin of international migrants in 2019 with a 17.5 million strong diaspora, according to a report from the United Nations. Playground has partnered with Cosmos Maya for Indian content via its WowKidz channel in addition to more than 10 other streamed content channels in different languages. The service will initially have more than 100 series and 5,000 episodes with more shows to follow.

“The Indian animation sector has been producing a wealth of content which has been travelling worldwide,” commented Anish Mehta, CEO of Cosmos-Maya. “The partnership with Playground TV’s new streaming service represents an exciting opportunity to deliver our best-selling content titles in multiple languages, including Hindi, to a global audience.”

The service will first launch on iOS, Android and web starting in the U.K. and then rolling out to selected countries in Europe followed by a U.S. launch late 2020/early 2021.

The animated series targets preschool viewers and follows the adventures of everyone’s favorite monkey and his insatiable curiosity to bring delightful antics, gentle humor and heartfelt emotion to each fun-filled episode. With a focus on education, the Emmy Award-winning program incorporates early concepts in math, science, technology and engineering and encourages children to use their imagination and expand their own investigations of the world.

  • A Mother’s Prophetic Dreams: Kang Min Kim’s OIAF Winner ‘KKUM’

A Mother’s Prophetic Dreams: Kang Min Kim’s OIAF Winner ‘KKUM’

***This article originally appeared in the December ’20 issue of Animation Magazine (No. 305)***

A mother prays for her son after having prophetic dreams in Korean director Kang Min Kim’s latest short KKUM, which won the Best Narrative Short prize at Ottawa last month. The L.A.-based director says he based his haunting black-and-white stop-motion short on his own mother’s dream. “I have made short films (38-39°C, Deer Flower and Jeom ) based on real experience of my family. My new film, KKUM, is based on my mother’s dreams, which have always been strong premonitions for important moments in my life. I rely on her dreams more than any religion. I can’t count how many dreams she had for me. I had to pick three lucky dreams and one nightmare for this short.”

    Kang Min Kim
    Kang Min Kim

Kim, who handled almost all aspects of the production, from design, story, fabrication, camera, animation, editing and post, began work on the short in July of 2019 and finished animation in two months. He wrapped up the sound and music, which were handled by Barrett Slagle, in December of last year. Kim used Dragonframe, After Effects, Photoshop and Lightroom to produce the short. His mother actually provided her own voice for the project.

KKUM is the most personal and strangest film I have made,” he admits. “But I hope audiences enjoy my film from the opening to the ending. I want audiences to take a different feeling, texture, and emotion from this short film. It would be great if my film makes them think about their mother.”

    KKUM
    KKUM

The animation director says he knew he wanted to pursue a career in the field when he used stop-motion for a music video project when he was a graphic design student in South Korea. “That project changed my life,” he recalls. “I realized this is real communication that I want to have between designer and audiences. So, I moved to L.A. to study animation at CalArts. My animation idols are Yuri Norstein and Igor Kovalyov. I try to find and follow new films made by directors who are working hard these days.”

So, why does he love working in the animated short format? “I think that filmmaking is not mathematics. It doesn’t have an answer,” he replies. “So, I can explore my world without any boundaries. This is why I was able to change my style, material and technique with each one of my projects. I think short form is perfect for telling who I am, where I came from and what I love.”

Now that he has won the Ottawa International Animation Festival’s most prestigious award, Kim is in the perfect position to provide helpful advice to newcomers in the field. He offers, “I would like to say one thing to students: Making a thesis short is the last chance you can do whatever you want without pressure. It is a special vacation in your life. Enjoy and make your beautiful thesis!”

Aardman Animates Autism Awareness Campaign for Scottish Gov’t

Multi award-winning and independent studio Aardman teamed up with the Scottish Government and The Leith Agency to create a thought provoking animated film for their ‘Different Minds. One Scotland’ campaign that highlights the stigma and discrimination that autistic people face.

The creative campaign has been developed to deliver a clearer understanding of autism to the non-autistic population and Aardman was tasked with creating a striking film that would capture attention and help share this complex message with the audience.

    Autism Awareness
    Autism Awareness

“It’s a real privilege to be able to spend our time making films, especially for a project that seeks to encourage a little empathy, kindness and understanding for a group whose experience of the world might be a little different to our own,” said Daniel Binns, Director at Aardman. “Creatively it was a thoroughly enjoyable challenge to try to do justice to that experience and despite lockdown coming along, it was a rewarding project that I’m proud to have been a part of.”

David Amers, Planning Director at The Leith Agency, added, “This is a very important campaign, one Leith’;s really proud to have created, working closely with our Scottish Government clients and stakeholders. It aims to deepen the publics’ understanding and acceptance of autism in Scotland and to challenge on-going myths. In doing so, it’;s a big step towards tackling the stigma and discrimination autistic people can feel.”

    Autism Awareness
    Autism Awareness

The three part campaign launched in October includes advertising on TV, radio, outdoor posters and digital media channels and has been developed to communicate key messages and dispel some myths around autism. Key messages include the fact that at least one in 100 people in Scotland are autistic, meaning their brains simply work differently, affecting the way they experience the world around them (in both positive and negative ways) and every autistic person is unique. The Different Minds campaign also seeks to correct the misinformation that autism is caused by vaccines, or that it is (or even should be) curable.

“At the heart of the campaign is a desire to tackle the stigma and myths surrounding autism and to help people have a better understanding of autism,” explained Claire Prentice, Head of Safer Marketing for the Scottish Government. “Aardman understood our vision from the start, and worked closely with us throughout to create an animated film which beautifully captures what the life of an autistic mind is like. We’re really delighted with the end result, and are confident it will have a powerful role to play in increasing awareness and understanding of autism in Scotland.”

‘Nahuel and the Magic Book’ Makes Market Premiere at AFM

Latido Films will be introducing international buyers to Nahuel and the Magic Book, the enchanting new 2D family feature film from the studio behind Chile’s first Oscar-winning animated short Bear Story, as an exclusive American Film Market premiere.

Produced and executive produced by Chilean animation studios Carburadores and Punkrobot (Bear Story), respectively, and co-produced by Brazil’s Levante Filmes (Guerrero, Bestia), Nahuel marks the feature directorial debut of Germán Acuña. The film has already garnered attention on the international festival scene, making the official selections for both the prestigious Annecy animation event in France and Germany’s Schlingel fest, and winning the Latin American feature film prize at Chilemonos 2020.

The movie centers on young Nahuel, who lives with his father in a fishing town yet has a deep fear of the sea. One day, he finds a magical book that seems to offer the solution to his problem in the form of an ancient spell — but a dark sorcerer is after the tome, and captures Nahuel’s father. Here, the boy’s fantastical adventure and greatest challenge begins: to rescue his father while overcoming his deepest fear.

“The film feeds from different myths and folk legends of the Chiloé archipelago,” Acuña explained in an interview for the Toon Boom blog. “This southern part of Chile is very special, some places feel frozen in time and nature can unfold in front of your eyes in very dramatic and beautiful ways. To me, the most attractive thing is the mythological level that exists there: an amalgam between local indigenous culture, mixed with the religious traditions imposed by the Europeans that arrived there.”

Nahuel and the Magic Book, which has been artistically compared to Japanese anime by critics, was produced using a “tradigital” 2D pipeline with Toon Boom’s Storyboard Pro and Harmony, and Carboradores studio took part in the Toon Boom training program during production. The movie also features stormy sea scenes which utilized both 2D and CGI VFX and 3D elements.

Nahuel and the Magic Book premieres November 9 as part of American Film Market.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is all about fun, adventure, inventive environments and lovable characters. It’s the latest chapter in a global phenomenon spanning over two decades, about an incurably optimistic sea sponge and his pals in the magical and delightful world of Bikini Bottom on the seafloor.

“As a first in the series with fully-rendered CG animation, it was quite a challenge for us,” commented Marie Balland, Head of Production, Mikros Animation Montreal. “We worked very closely with Tim Hill and his team to ensure that the translation o the look from 2D to 3D animation would be done in full respect of the franchise, while developing a new and richer look that does really immerse the viewers in Bikini Bottom and the Lost City of Atlantic City.”

To stay true to the TV show, the artists adopted a differentiated style to animate the characters and the environment on twos. Creating the environments in “almost” full CG required a deep stylistic exploration and redefinition of shape language and visual codes. This, in turn, allowed the Mikros teams to create new colorful and contrasted landscapes with a high level of detail:

“In the TV series, the sand in Bikini Bottom has some splotches and splatters of paint. The 3D animation reveals that the splatters are actually little pebbles,” explained Rachel Tiep-Daniels, Animation Production Designer at Paramount Animation. This effect was achieved through an organic mix of high-tech and traditional techniques, combining strong asset building philosophy, workflow flexibility and visual inventiveness.

Preserving the spirit of the original series and the individuality and personality of each protagonist made the design and animation of the character very demanding. The rigging phase was complex and dense, as most of the characters are unique. The team at Mikros Animation had to rethink the crafting of the 3D characters: they used stepped animation to avoid any motion blur and smooth effects, whilst also using movable limbs, 2D shapes, animated FX and shading transfers, so that the characters could act, move, deform and do all kinds of crazy stunts!

“Tim Hill really understands the world of SpongeBob. He has the franchise’s DNA but he still let us, the artists, loose. So we all had the opportunity to propose our own artistic approach, which he and his team would then approve or not,” said Jacques Daigle of Mikros Animation Montreal, who was animation supervisor on the film. “As an animator, this type of movie comes only every five or 10 years in a career. We laughed a lot while working on this visual feast of color, comedy and fun.”

The joy of working on this feature animation was put to the test by the global pandemic. When “safer at home” policies started being implemented in spring 2020, Mikros Animation was able to deploy the necessary solutions within days to allow their artists in both Montreal and Paris to work from home securely. Beyond the technological challenges and the lockdown conditions that evolved over the following weeks, the studio was able to have more than 240 artists in Montreal and in Paris dedicated to the SpongeBob movie and its marketing assets, working from home. The project was fully completed under lockdown conditions, not only in full collaboration with Mikros’ transatlantic studios, but also with Mr. X, which handled VFX, and Technicolor Post-Production for grading.

Framestore, in partnership with Aleph Capital and Crestview Partners, today announces the purchase of Company 3 / Method, bringing together two of the world’s top creative businesses in film, television and advertising.

The acquisition creates the only global creative services studio working across every part of the creative and production process. A partnership that has together won every major creative award in the film, television, advertising, mixed reality, stereo conversion and experiential sectors.

  • Think Tank Emporium Joins Forces with Mana-T Studios

Think Tank Emporium Joins Forces with Mana-T Studios

Puerto Rico-based production company Mana-T Studios has teamed up with New York’s Think Tank Emporium Licensing Group in a global representation deal for studio’s brands.

Among the intellectual properties to be represented is Elenita the Chicken Whisperer (Elenita la Encantadora de Gallinas). Elenita is a very imaginative girl growing up in the country with an incredible love and curiosity for animals and nature. She has a very special bond with animals which she considers her “amigos”. And not only she dreams of having a bird sanctuary for when she grows up, but she has a secret, she can talk to chickens! In her neighborhood she is known as “The Chicken Whisperer” and if someone has a problem with a “gallinita,” Elenita is the one to call. Elenita and her favorite chicken/best friend Nita will have fun and unusual adventures that will teach important life lessons as they both discover our connections with nature and our surroundings.

Elenita targets a preschool audience. Elena Montijo, creator and producer at Mana-T Studios, bases Elenita’s stories on real events from her childhood, which are full of humor and innocence.

The second property is The Two Worlds of Mona which is about a girl with divorced parents and how she copes being separated once a week from either her mom or dad. She experiences different ventures every weekend, approached with a great sense of humor and based on each parent’s somewhat interesting, educational and fun careers.

Mona lives with her mother Isabel. She goes to school as a normal kid but it’s on weekends when the adventure begins. Her mother is a paranormal investigator — she could be searching for a werewolf who wants a friend, a vampire who needs a dentist at midnight, or hunting mischievous ghosts in the “haunted” house. Her dad, John Juan, is an adventurer who posts his discoveries on his vlog and YouTube channel. He also takes advantage of every second he spends with Mona, showing her everything nature has to offer while fleeing from mummies or mini pirates riding sharks.

David Wollos, co-partner of The Think Tank Emporium, said, “It is a pleasure to start this adventure with Mana-T Studios. In addition to its highly diverse characters, rich in potential, it is a young studio full of energy and enthusiasm.”

Wollos is a veteran of the distribution, licensing, sales and marketing business who in the past served as senior vice president of sales and operations for Sunbow Productions, the company that created series such as Transformers, My Little Pony and G.I. Joe, among others. Along with his partner Joan Packard Luks, who has worked with major companies like Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Turner Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Sesame Workshop, and more. They seek to bring this Puerto Rican studio’s productions within the reach of children and parents around the world.

The initial focus of Think Tank Emporium’s plan for the properties will be publishing and merchandise across multiple categories, including toys and games. While the studio will develop shorts, animated series, children’s books and comics as well as other content.

“I am delighted to raise the name of Puerto Rico and to help introduce us to an industry as powerful as animation is, while taking our IPs to markets outside the country. Excited for a great reason,” said studio founder Tommy González, who was also the producer of Manny, The Super Manatee, the first animated series produced entirely on the island.

  • Anima, Lunes Partner for New Adult ‘Condorito’ Series

Anima, Lunes Partner for New Adult ‘Condorito’ Series

The beloved bird-bud of Chilean comic strip Condorito, created by René “Pepo” Ríos, will now have its own animated sitcom aimed at teens and adults. World Editors (owner of the IP), international family entertainment co. Ánima (Top Cat: The Movie, Las Leyendas) and Chilean animation studio Lunes (Homeless, Waldo’s Dream) announce an agreement to develop and produce the show. This new series aims to showcase all of the unique characters who live in Pelotillehue town and their hilarious adventures.

Condorito is a hugely popular character in Latin America. To this date three generations have already grown up reading about his many adventures. Every year more than 80 million people enjoy Condorito’s comic strips, which are published more than a million times all over the region. It is the second most recognized comic strip among the U.S. Hispanic population. Condorito is also considered the second most important icon in Chile, just after their national flag.

“Condorito and the rest of Pepo’s characters are known and loved throughout Latin America, so we already have a substantial fanbase for the show,” said Jose Navarro, CEO of Lunes. “However we want the Condorito sitcom to be enjoyed all over the world, not just in the region; that’s why we are confident Ánima’s expertise and sensibility will help us achieve this ambitious goal.”

    Condorito
    Condorito

Anima will work on creative development and manage the sitcom’s production, sales and distribution.

“Condorito is one of the most cherished characters in all of Latin America. We are so proud and thankful of the opportunity to bring Pepo’s characters to life. We are thrilled to be working with Lunes and can’t wait to get started on this amazing project,” said José C. García de Letona, COO at Ánima.

Navarro added, “We have discovered, through our own passion for Condorito and by working with experts on the brand, that most of the stories written in the original comic strips are still very current to this day.”

Lunes’ team is collaborating with Pedro Maino, researcher and editor for the comics, and designer Franco Rampoldi to come up with the stories and give Condorito a new look, while Ánima’s team will assist in the development and will be in charge of the production of the show, which aims to make audiences, new and old, fall in love with this incredibly funny bird and his friends. The partnership will soon announce world-class writers and artists who will be joining the project.

“We will be loyal to the character’s essence and origins while at the same time giving him a new, fresh look and having a contemporary approach to the stories,” assured García de Letona.

“We are aware of the responsibility of working with such a beloved character so our strategy will be to go back to its roots and rescue Condorito’s nature, a poor and lonely immigrant who establishes himself in a quiet Latin American town, meeting new and unique friends that will help him through all kind of silly situations,” concluded Navarro.

Goodbye Kansas Sets Up IP Co. Infinite Entertainment in LA

Bublar’s subsidiary Goodbye Kansas has established new production and IP company Infinite Entertainment in Los Angeles. The company will create, acquire and manage intellectual property rights for development across film & television, with a focus on projects with extraordinary worlds and characters, in stories that reach international audiences. The L.A. location follows Infinite establishments in Stockholm and London.

“Goodbye Kansas was created based on the idea of creating a ‘Universe for Artists’ to work with iconic characters and stories in popular culture, and Infinite Entertainment is a natural part of that vision. It is vital for us that Infinite has a presence in Los Angeles where we can present our projects for Hollywood’s biggest studios. We get the opportunity to create strategic partnerships with other successful producers and work with some of the best filmmakers in the world,” said Peter Levin, CEO of Goodbye Kansas.

Infinite Entertainment already has multiple projects under development, the common denominator of which is that they will all feature advanced visual effects. These projects include a “supernatural adventure film” produced together with Watchmen-producer Lloyd Levin & Beatriz Levin for a major streaming company, a science fiction series by the world-renowned concept artist Andrée Wallin (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as well as a science fiction thriller based on an original story from the renowned artist and writer Simon Stålenhag, whose art book Tales from the Loop was adapted into the critically acclaimed Amazon series of the same name released earlier this year.

“The idea behind Infinite Entertainment is to develop original stories and IP that we either create internally or in co-production with other creators and partners. We work with writers, directors and concept illustrators both in Europe and the U.S. to find fantastic projects with a unique visual expression and storytelling that we can bring to an international audience. Right now, we have six different projects under development,” said Tom Olsson, Head of Production at Infinite Entertainment.

In cooperation with international development and production partners, Infinite Entertainment manages each internal and co-produced project through each phase of development, financing and production. With presence in Europe and the U.S., the company works with a variety of distribution partners at both local and global level, developing projects for smaller partners or together with large international studios. Infinite is a cost-efficient unit leveraging Goodbye Kansas full spectrum of competence.

“I’m very pleased that Infinite Entertainment is now also being established in Los Angeles. In addition to the regular business in Goodbye Kansas, we see many opportunities for Infinite where the business model is based on project and royalty revenues for its own IPs. We can offer filmmakers a partner with access to some of the best artists in the industry and develop unique original stories,” said Maria A. Grimaldi, CEO and Managing Director of Bublar Group.

Goodbye Kansas recently received the Swedish government’s export prize for cultural and creative industries. The aim is to highlight the width of cultural and creative industries, and their contribution to Swedish export as well as Sweden as an innovative and creative country.
