U.S. anime distributor ADV Films today announced the release of its third set of AniMini DVDs, three-inch collectible discs that contain episodes of popular animated shows. The latest batch includes installments of Hello Kitty & Friends‘ volumes 2-4 and Robotech Remastered volumes 1-4.
Branded for girls, Hello Kitty the 30-year-old flagship brand of Sanrio. In addition to the animated show, the property has a multi-million dollar retail presence worldwide with a variety of consumer products available. Robotech has been an anime TV favorite since the 1980s, weaving a complex inter-galactic drama across generations and bringing together hard-hitting mecha action and richly developed characters.
The new line of AniMinis is priced at SRP $6.98, with each disc containing a complete episode. The mini DVDs double as coupons and are redeemable for $10 off a full-size, multi-episode DVD title of the same name when purchased through the ADV Films website.
"We couldnt keep enough of the first batch in stock," says Anne Armogida, director of marketing for ADV Films. "We anticipate this batch of our must-have titles to do just as well this fall."
ADV Films catalog includes such best-selling titles such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, RahXephon, Full Metal Panic! and Azumanga Daioh, as well as The Jim Henson Company’s Farscape, the nationally syndicated Gene Roddenberrys Andromeda and the Saturn Award-nominated Mutant X.
