Activisions Neversoft Studios, creators of the best-selling Tony Hawk franchise, is in development on a new intellectual property that promises to bring its world-renowned development prowess to a new genre. The studio is remaining tight-lipped about the unnamed title, slated for release in 2006 alongside a new game based on the Tony Hawk franchise.
According to Ron Doornink, CEO of Activision Publishing Inc., Tony Hawk games have sold in excess of $800 million to date. In the last five years, Neversoft has developed six critically acclaimed, multi-million-unit selling games in the action-sports and action-adventure genres. Titles include three installments of Tony Hawks Pro Skater (with a fourth coming this October), MDK, Apocalypse and Spider-Man.
