Studio B announced an impending pre-sale for a new animated series titled Bad Hair Rae to YTV. The series, aimed at kids 8—12, is co-created and designed by ¡Mucha Lucha! creators Eddie Mort and Lili Chin of FWAK! and developed with Pacific Vision of Australia. Installments of the 52×12 2D Flash series are slated for broadcast in spring 2006.

Bad Hair Rae is a comedy/mystery series about a fifteen-year old girl who comes to live in Coffin Bay, a fishing town with a dark past. There, Rae discovers a whole litany of secrets, strange happenings, weird phenomena and paranormal events involving doppelgangers, three headed canines, evil mermaids, a missing moon and more. It’s up to Rae and her brainy new friend, Perry, to figure out just what is going on.

Bad Hair Rae was developed in association with Nickelodeon Australia, the Australian Film Commission and the Australian Children’s TV Foundation, with Mort and Chin working closely with Donna Andrews and Stu Connolly of Australia’s Sticky Pictures.

Studio B is now in production on an animated series titled Being Ian for YTV. It’s other original series include Yvon of the Yukon, What About Mimi? and D’Myna Leagues, which currently air in more than 22 countries worldwide. The studio’s international co-productions include Something Else and Yakkity Yak, which airs on Nickelodeon in the U.S.
