World of Warcraft players can be among the first to get their hands on the first expansion for the hugely popular video game with tonight’s midnight release of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Blizzard Ent. will even co-host special midnight signing events at four retail locations in California. Members of the development team will be on hand at each store to greet gamers and sign copies of the eagerly awaited PC title.
The signings will take place at GameStop/EB Games at Universal City and Fry’s Electronics locations on Arques Ave. in Sunnyvale, Kalama River Ave. in Fountain Valley and on E. La Palma in Anaheim. A limited number of wristbands will be distributed at each of the four participating outlets that will guarantee a copy of the game. Players unable to attend any of the four official Blizzard launch events can check with local retailers such as GameStop/EB, Best Buy and Fry’s for their nationwide midnight opening plans.
With more than 7.5 million players worldwide, World of Warcraft is currently the hottest massively multiplayer role-playing game. World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade will allow players to advance up to the new level cap of 70. As they embark on new adventures in the continent of Outland, gamers can play as two new races’the Blood Elves and the Draenei. They will also be able to obtain player-controlled flying mounts, take up the new profession of jewelcrafting and engage in new forms of player-vs.-player combat.
