The Disney-ABC Television Group and Sprint have joined forces to offer Sprint customers video programming from Disney Channel, ABC Ent. and ABC News. The Disney Channel content, including the animated series Kim Possible, is featured on one of three mobile channels that provide continuous, linear streams of scheduled programming, and full-length episodes of hit shows will also be available on-demand
Other Disney Channel programs joining the Sprint network include the hit live-action series Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Cory in the House. Meanwhile, more mature audiences can catch up with episodes of such ABC programs as Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost and Ugly Betty. Video-on-demand shows will be available the day after their television premiere, and selected content will be ad-supported starting this fall.
“We are excited to team with Sprint to build out our first-ever, multi-brand wireless offering, utilizing content throughout our group to bring an extensive, comprehensive array of world-class programming to the mobile marketplace,” says Anne Sweeney, co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of Disney-ABC Television Group. “We continue to be focused on finding new ways to connect viewers to the content they want and brands they love on the platforms they choose.’
All Disney Channel programming will be included in Sprint’s Power Vision Access Pack, which costs an additional $15 per month. All other Disney-ABC Television Group content can be accessed in the Sprint Power Vision TV Pack for an additional $20 per month. Both packages also include unlimited use of several other non-video applications such as web browsing, Picture Mail and mobile email.
