Canadian kids’ channel YTV has acquired English-language television, video-on-demand and online pay-platform rights to The Imp, an animated series co-produced by Red Kite Animations, Screen 21 and TVC, and distributed by BRB International. The comedy for young adults currently airs on a number of major outlets around the world, including Cartoon Network in the U.S., Disney Chanel in Japan and Televisi’ de Catalunya in Spain.
Presented in HD 3D and featuring a black-and-white graphic style, The Imp revolves around ‘the shortest and cutest master of evil,’ a creature who is constantly trying to unleash terror upon the world but has no clue what’s he’s doing. His diabolical intentions always seem to backfire, no matter how thoroughly he plans them.
Universal Pictures International Ent. recently acquired mobile-phone rights for The Imp throughout the U.K. Fans can also anticipate a merchandising program to launch this year. For more information on the series, go to www.theimp.tv.
