New York-based Animation Collective and Canadian entertainment company Fatkat Studios today announced a co-venture to produce 26 episodes of a half-hour animated action-comedy series titled Three Delivery. The show will be produced in association with Nicktoons Network, YTV and the BBC. Animation Collective will handle worldwide television and consumer products sales for the series, which will make its U.S. premiere on Nicktoons in the U.S. and BBC in the U.K. in early 2008. Canadians will be able to catch it on YTV in September of 2009.
Created and exec produced by Animation Collective founder and C.E.O Larry Schwarz, Three Delivery is set in a magical Chinatown and follows the adventures of a group of orphaned teenage delivery kids who are also Kung Fu-fighting superheroes. Together, they must prevent the evil Kong Li from collecting powerful, ancient food recipes that have the power to unleash dark forces upon the world.The series will be animated in a graphic, comic-book style. Animation Collective is also producing 11 two-minute mobisodes for cellular phones and a complete online world that will include a massively multi-player online game.
‘Three Delivery is our first take on the superhero genre, but, like all of our series, it is driven by great characters and compelling, kid-relatable stories,’ says Schwarz. ‘The show is a fantasy, but the characters are written as real kids who viewers will want to emulate. We also incorporated tween trends, including extreme bike riding, punk and EMO.”
“This is a great opportunity for Fatkat to finally utilize its Flash techniques with great traditional animation,” adds Fatkat Studios president Gene Fowler.
Animation Collective’s other original series include Kappa Mikey for Nickeodeon and Nicktoons Network, Thumb Wrestling Federation: TWF, Leader Dog and Tortellini Western for Nicktoons Network and Ellen’s Acres for Cartoon Network. All shows are created and exec produced by Schwarz.
