Rick Wiener and Kenny Schwartz, exec producers of the hit FOX animated series American Dad!, have signed on to stay with the show for another two years, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As part of their seven-figure, two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV Studio, the pair will also develop new projects.
American Dad! Delves into the dysfunctional family life of Stan Smith, a conservative government agent who harbors a Roswell alien in his attic and keeps a talking goldfish that was once part of a government experiment. The show is the brainchild of Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and former Family Guy scribes Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman. The three serve as exec producers on the series, along with Wiener, Schwartz and David Zuckerman.
Schwartz and Wiener return to the FOX TV talent stable after co-creating the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl with Danny Jacobson ten years ago. The also created and exec produced the Warner Bros. sitcoms Do Over and Like Family, and have been part of the American Dad! team since the show’s 2005 debut.
