Cuppa Coffee Studios is going into production on Life’s a Zoo, a new stop-motion adult comedy series that debuted at MIPTV and has caught the attention of several international partners, according to the company. Aimed at viewers 18 and over, the show promises to deliver a hilarious new spin on reality television and will have its own web channel.
“The response since MIP has been phenomenal,’ says Cuppa Coffee exec producer Adam Shaheen. ‘We’ve had plenty of offers from TV, though we are also concentrating on an often overlooked aspect, which is a true Web component’not just a flimsy website but original and related programming that’s not seen on TV.’
Shaheen says several potential partners saw the show as a great vehicle for online marketing and digital download sales. ‘We’re in talks with three potential production partners to see whose sales expertise and product fit with the Life’s a Zoo brand in the most creative way,’ he explains. ‘It’s nice to be pitched to rather than being the pitchee!”
The series is budgeted at $6 million, and the company is looking to create and maintain the website for around $3 million. Both components are expected to rollout in Canada and the rest of the world in April of 2008.
