Anime Network Nabs Heroes Star

James Kyson Lee, one of the stars of the hit NBC series Heroes, will take fans behind the scenes of this year’s Anime Expo as guest host the Anime Network program Anime Access. Lee and the Access crew will give viewers a virtual backstage pass to the massive event, which will be held June 29 through July 2 in Long Beach, Calif. The episode will air on Anime Network on August 16.

Lee, who plays Ando Masahashi (Hiro’s best friend) on Heroes, will interview the creators and voice actors behind a number of the top new anime releases, while also giving anime fans the chance to share the spotlight. Previous guest hosts have included MTV China VJ Angel Tang and The Amazing Race 5 contestant Niki O’ Brien.

The Anime Network/ADV Films booth (#1400) at Anime Expo will host ‘Adventures in Voice Acting,’ which will have attendees acting out their favorite anime scenes for the chance to win a video iPod on Saturday, June 30, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Anime Network will also feature both live commentary and autograph sessions with several of the industry’s top voice artists, including Vic Mignogna (Air TV, Full Metal Panic!, DN Angel, Macross, Innocent Venus), Monica Rial (Kurau Phantom Memory, Excel Saga, Noir, Hello Kitty) and Chris Patton (Guyver, Full Metal Panic!, Air Gear, Nerima Daikon Brothers).
