Jim Gaffigan, Carl Reiner Join ‘Duck Duck Goose’ Cast

Original Force Animation announces the most recent cast and talent additions to its debut animated feature, Duck Duck Goose, a family comedy due out in 2017. Joining the voice talent roster are actor, writer and comedian Jim Gaffigan and director, writer and actor Carl Reiner. Original Force has also signed on composer Mark Isham (Crash) to score the film.

Christopher Jenkins (Home) directs from a screenplay he wrote with Rob Muir. Previously announced cast members also include Stephen Fry, Jennifer Grey, Molly Shannon, Diedrich Bader and Rick Overton.  Carl Reiner will voice a wise and loyal turtle named Larry.

Duck Duck Goose is the first of three animated feature projects currently in production at Original Force Animation — one of China’s most successful digital animation studios, which last year opened an L.A. production and development office lead by Penney Finkelman Cox and Sandra Rabins.

A new series of specials produced by Socially Dynamic Entertainment (in association with Vancouver toon studio Bardel Entertainment) will arrive on PBS stations nationwide as Mack & Moxy is set to debut April 1. The new kids media property is designed to inspire the next generation of great humanitarians, created and exec produced by Disney veteran Brahm Wenger and inspired by Wenger and Alan Green’s award-winning Dewey Doo-it books.

Inkling Creative’s ‘Follow Your Heart’ Bows at SBIFF

Inklings Creative announces that its debut animated short film Follow Your Heart will premiere this month at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, taking place in the coastal California city from February 3-13 (Feb. 3-13).

Written by children’s book author Michelle Cuevas, directed by Rob O’Neill and produced by Josh Ludmir, Follow Your Heart is a story about love and self-discovery set in a world where people’s hearts are on the outside of their bodies, and exhibit the character and behavior of pets. According to O’Neill, animation was the perfect medium to explore this inventive concept.

“It was a challenge to determine the rules for this imaginative world and a genuine thrill to see the unique design of these original and lovable creatures come to life,” O’Neill says.

Follow Your Heart was animated in 3D CG with hand-painted 2D textures at Gizmo Animation Studios in Buenos Aires, Argentina. “Since the film has no dialogue, it was essential for us to focus on developing great character performances and meaningful visual moments,” says Gizmo’s Emanuel Verruno.

The film also features an original score from Tommy Faragher (music producer for Glee) and a new rendition of blues standard “It Hurts Me Too” recorded by Lucinda Williams for the project.

Follow Your Heart screens at SBIFF Feb. 9 at 5:20 pm at Metro Theater 2 and Feb. 10 at 10:20 pm at Fiesta Theater 2, followed each time by filmmaker Q&As.
