CG Overdrive, one of Asia’s largest CG conferences and exhibitions, is slated to make its second appearance at the Singapore Expo, which takes place June 16-22. The gathering of CG artists, professionals, enthusiasts and academics will provide attendees with the unique opportunity to pick the brains of animators and artists who have worked on popular movies and video games.
Among the participating pros is Red Engine director John Chalfant, a veteran modeler and animator whose credits include the hugely successful World of Warcraft game and the expansion packs Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne and Warcraft 3: Reign or Chaos. Chalfant, who also worked on 20th Century Fox’s hit movie The Day After Tomorrow, will be presenting a workshop on digital sculpting for cinematic development at CG Overdrive.
Other speakers lined up for the 2007 event include animator Michael Gagne (The Iron Giant, Star Wars: Clone Wars, An American Tail), animator Kyle Balda (A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners), conceptual artis Fengzhu (Star Wars: Episode III’Revenge of the Sith) and Hyperbolic Enterprises CEO Paul Hormis.
