Taffy Ent., which handles worldwide distribution and brand management for a number of leading animation producers, has extended its presence in the Middle East with sales to E-Vision and MBC in the UAE. E-Vision has picked up the Emmy-nominated Dive Olly Dive! and SamSam, as well as second seasons of Pet Alien and ToddWorld. Meanwhile, MBC has acquired broiadcast rights to the new series Growing Up Creepie. a deal for the Emmy-nominated with a sale to MBC, also based in the UAE.
Produced by Taffy Ent., in association with DAG Ent., Sunwoo Ent./Peach Blossom, Telegael Teoranta and Discovery Kids, Growing Up Creepie takes an irreverent look at adolescence through the eyes of Creepie Creecher, a young girl abandoned as a baby and raised by a family of bugs. The show was recently named Best TV Series For Children at the Cartoons on the Bay in Solerno, Italy.
Dive Olly Dive! follows the underwater escapades of Olly and Beth, two young research submarines-in-training. The two live in a deep-sea research center, where they experience the joys and challenges of life in their underwater world. The series is co-produced in high-definition CG by Mike Young Prods., Flying Bark Prods. of Australia, KI.KA, ARD of Germany, Telegael of Ireland and GDC. Production support is provided by the MEDIA Plus Programme of the European Community.
SamSam is a new HD 3D-animated series based on the popular comic book by Bayard Jeunesse and published in magazines worldwide. Aimed at kids 4-6, the show revolves around is the smallest of heroes. Though he doesn’t quite yet have super powers, SamSam can fly his own SamSaucer into space or deal with dirty-rotten monsters.
Pet Alien is a CG comedy series about a twelve-year-old whose life is turned upside down when five space aliens’Dinko, Swanky, Gumpers, Flip and Scruffy’move in with him. Based on a property created by Jeff Muncy of John Doze Studios, the series is produced by Mike Young Prods., in conjunction with Moonscoop, Telegael and Europool Germany.
ToddWorld is a half-hour animated preschool series based on the best-selling books of Todd Parr. The show offers a mixture of moral, emotional and skills-based messages presented in a playful and whimsical manner. Created by Parr in collaboration with writer Gerry Renert, president of SupperTime Ent., the series is produced by Mike Young Prods., along with Discovery Kids, Dataquest and Telegael.
