Taffy’s Fantastic Four Stretches Internationally

Taffy Ent. has sold its new Fantastic Four animated series to the U.K.’s GMTV, which plans to air the Marvel superhero action show during Toonattik, its weekend children’s block that airs on ITV1 and CITV. In separate deals, the series was acquired by TV Globo in Brazil, MRTL in Hungary and Fox Video for Europe and Latin America.

Based on characters created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Fantastic Four toon series is co-produced by France’s Moonscoop Prods. and continues the adventures of a group of astronauts who develop special abilities after being exposed to cosmic radiation and become a famous team of do-gooders.

Following strong bows on Cartoon Network in the U.S. M6 in France and ITV in the U.K., Fantastic Four will soon be released on DVD just in time to capitalize on the publicity surrounding Twentieth Century Fox’s June 15 release of the live-action feature Fantastic 4: The Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Operating from offices in Paris, Los Angeles, London and Shanghai, Taffy is the distribution and brand management arm of Mike Young Prods. and MoonScoop Prods. The company’s library of more than 3,000 half hours of animation includes Bobby’s World, Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, ToddWorld, Pet Alien, Titeuf, Growing Up Creepie, Mix Master, Dive Olly Dive!, Code Lyoko and Casper.
